Okay, so this isn't really a "Project", but people have been asking what the new place looks like, and it's easier to put it on here rather than FB as for some reason the uploader on that was giving me trouble today. Just a few pics of the main level. Oh, please ignore the half-dressed child. It's a fight every day to keep any clothes on her at all, so pants only will have to do for now.
Can I make bread? HECK YA. This goodness is compliments of yours truly. And it was possibly the best pumpkin bread I've ever tasted in my life. (Really, I'm not just saying that) Regular Pumpkin Bread + Cream Cheese = Best Ever. LOVE the recipe. I know this isn't really a "project", however the fact that the pumpkin in this pumpkin bread is from my Halloween Pumpkin that I ended up just boiling for the pumpkin instead of carving, makes it a "kinda project" -- lots of work went into this baby! I saw the recipe way back before we moved, but didn't want to cook it in our tiny kitchen, so I waited and voila! BEE-U-T-FULL ;-) (yes, I know, bragging... however, you must remember that I married into a family of women who can cook ANYTHING and it turns out tasting like the food of the Gods. So yay me for being able to cook something good too!)
Next, this one isn't mine, the credit is all on my husband. The man is awesome when it comes to... well, possibly just about everything. Seriously. Not kidding. At moments I want to strangle him with my bare hands (Although I hear they frown on that in North America...;), just because he knows stuff other people don't. Alot of stuff. Comes in handy for when I'm writing, he can tell me info on what I need, or point me in the right direction. ANYWAY, talk about off topic-- my wonderful hubby made these shelves (obviously we needed them badly), with only two or three screws in the drywall. Love him. Thanks honey.

Bed Before:

Bed After (with the new bedding set) -- Yay, Finally Jawz doesn't have to fight for room at night with Bo (the large dog, named after the late Bo), Honkey (the Donkey), and Horse (a horse-- pretty original, eh?). I also plan on finding butterfly stencils to stencil on the backdrop of the cubbies. I'll stencil them in with the "raspberry" paint, and Jawz will love it. Well, she already LOVES it, but she loves Butterflies too, so that will make it even better, and complete ;o)

Joslyn's "New" bed and dresser. I have my friend Sydell to thank for this, she knew we were thinking of switching Joslyn to a "big kid" bed, and spotted this sucker at a garage sale. She called me up, let me know, came and got me (Bert had to go on a job, so he had the car), and left her younger daughter here to watch both of my children (Thanks Keziah!). Then after I bought the bed/dresser combo-- Sydell told both the people I purchased it from and I that all of it would fit in her van. I was doubtful. They were doubtful. It fit. FREAKIN AMAZING! Might not seem like a huge feat to some of you, but fitting a twin sized bed/dresser/mattress in a minivan all at the same time (with room to spare, might I add) to me, is a work of art. Thank heaven for friends!
Okay, so originally white and blue, I wanted to go with something a bit more "girly" but not overkill. SO, I sanded the bed, dresser and drawers, repainted the drawers this light "raspberry" purplish colour, and the main bed/dresser Ivory. I forgot to take pictures of the dresser beforehand. But here is the after.
Sidenote: I'm debating whether or not to find new handles for the bed drawers and dresser drawers. But at the moment these are okay. I may look around and see what I can find.
Old dresser and bed + new mattress + new paint = not bad (I think)
