Some New Pics

On Halloween, after we did trick or treating with some friends.
Keira fell asleep on Bert...

Keira, passed out after trick or treating, I wore her around in a front pack, but she was out like a light as soon as we got back in the car.

Joslyn, checking out her candy. Yum.

She LOVES to hold her baby sister, and begs me all the time. If Keira is asleep, Joslyn likes to wake her up so that they can "play" which consists of her poking Keira, or lightly smacking her on the top of her head, then laughing like no tomorrow...

All dressed up and pretty for church.
Bert came in to tell me one day that Joslyn had gotten ahold of a black permanent marker, and had not only coloured on herself, but had decided to use our recliner as a colouring canvas as well. I didn't get any pics of the recliner before he scrubbed it (amazingly it all came off), but I did get some of her, right as she was going into the bath. Most of it was on her leg, and then a bit on her tummy/arms and face.

Fresh Outta the Bath

Trying On her Halloween costume. She was a "Spider Charmer".
Giving baby sister kisses :-)

Some Great Sites to Check Out.

So, there are a couple of great Etsy site's and other sites that I want to put out there, if you love artsy type things, these are some great places to look at:

Also, if you're looking for a place for very cheap cell phone accesories, I found a great site for that as well, for an example, head phones for Bert's cell phone cost us $75 at The Source, and at this site, I got them for $14. Awesome deal, even after paying for shipping and tax, it was still cheaper to buy everything I got from online. ALSO, when these things were delivered, UPS charged us $35 for some odd reason, well when I mentioned this to the seller, he told me he would refund my $35 (as they pay import cost as part of shipping) and take the matter up with UPS himself. I wasn't even complaining, I had just mentioned it in my review, but said everything else was great, and they emailed me telling me that. So, they are honest people, and I completely recommend them. They ship from California, but obviously will ship to Canada, or U.S. Here is their site if you're interested:

Bert's work

Well, things have been going fairly well here. We were able to make a fun trip down south a couple of weeks after Keira was born (Canadian Thanksgiving), so we had fun with family/friends down there. We've been busy, that is one reason I haven't really had a chance to get on here and write much. BUT, now that I have something exciting to write about, I have to update, so that everyone can know...
Bert came home from work the other day with good news and bad news. The good news... they have decided to up him to a supervisor, which is VERY exciting, considering that is two steps above where he is right now. Along with the supervisor position, he'll get a company cell phone, laptop and pickup truck (for when he's on his days on) to drive, he already has the gas card to go along with the truck. I'm so proud of him, and I'm excited for this all to take effect. We're not quite sure when it will take effect, but they ordered his laptop on Wednesday, so I'm assuming sometime after that arrives.
What this means is that instead of being the one who works the pump when they go out on a job, he can either do that (which isnt' required of him, but he probably will do because he's not a lazy bum like some of the other supervisors), or he can sit in his truck and do the paperwork for the job (which he'll have to do anyway).
This is very exciting, even though it means we'll be in Lloydminster now for probably a couple more years at the least. The opportunity is just too good to say no to.

Keira Serenity Has Arrived

On Sept 25th, 2008 Bert and I went to the hospital because I was having contractions. There were quite a few women in the maternity ward with contrax also, so instead of checking me in, the woman at the desk just sent us upstairs, and told us that if we needed to do check in, then we could do it later.
Once upstairs in maternity, they hooked me up to do an NST, and I was on that for about an hour and a half, before I got a break from it, then no one came back in to hook me up for quite awhile. My contractions were getting harder and harder, and when a nurse finally came to check me to see if I was dilated at all... she checked and then ran back out into the hall and had another nurse come in and check me. So the second nurse checked to see if I was dilated, and lo and behold... I should have been in the delivery room already, so they raced around, trying to get me into a hospital gown, into a wheelchair and into the delivery room, and not 20 minutes later, Keira arrived. :-) Weighing in at 7lb 90z and 21 1/2 inches long. She's got some hair, and she's fairly dark, but looks EXACTLY like her dad. The labor/delivery went very quickly and it was "picture perfect". The nurses and doctor were saying how they should have video taped it for a video on how deliveries are supposed to go... um NO. lol. And funny enough, when that nurse came into my room to check me, it was actually to check me and send me home, as they thought I could go home... Good thing they checked, or she could've been born in the elevator, lol.
Anyway, we were in the hospital for 24 hours (because they require that) and then we went home and my parents were there that night to help us out for a couple of weeks. :-)
